Pattoo is the traditional dress of the local women. It is thicker and heavier than a shawl.

Local women wear pattoo over their clothes. This comfortable and versatile daily wear garment allows them to do their daily chores with ease besides keeping them warm. They pin both ends of it with local silver broaches called 'bumni', joined with a long ornamental chain. It covers the whole body. A piece of cloth called gachchi (belt) is tied around the waist. It makes the lady look elegant.
